Haruna Aaron Sunday is a 25 year old young person who hails from Kaduna State, Nigeria. Aaron (his preferred name) is a passionate advocate for the inclusion of youth voices in all HIV, TB and malaria programming. He is the Founder and Executive Director of African Network of Adolescents and Young Persons Development(ANAYD) and is a member of the Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for Kaduna State where he serves as the youth representative an interface to provide strategic guide for programming on northern Nigerian young people. He is also the West Africa’s Board Representative of African Young Positive Network (AY+) , West Africa Advisory Board Representative for African Young Leaders Forum, West Africa regional Representative of Patience Alliance Advocacy Manchester London UK, Director on Diaspora and External Affairs for African Youth For Development Commission (AYDEC), United Nations Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Nigeria ALL In to End Adolescents AIDs Champion, Co-Board Chair of the United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) Youth Advisory Group, Kaduna State Program Manager of Association of Positive Youth Living with HIV in Nigeria (APYIN) and the Kaduna State Vice Chairman of Nigerian Youth Organization (NYO).
Aaron is passionate about the socio-economic development, empowerment, provision of quality youth friendly health services and the protection of the rights of adolescents and young people and working in the areas of health, governance, empowerment, education, entertainment, Information Communication Technology (ICT) for adolescents, young people and youth.
